THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE AWESOME FEEDBACK YOU'VE BEEN GIVING ME.  HERE ARE SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS... NUNYA

All you guys and gals were unbelievable! I know after the fire that place went from paradise to almost Hell!  (Deer Creek - Gold Ridge - South Fork Loop - Mazatzal Mountains Arizona 11/16/2008)  I used to lead that hike many times for the Sierra Club but I did it up the South Fork and down the Gold Ridge. Including hiking many times myself into the dark if I started after noon hiking and taking a snooze! But it was only a 5-6 hour loop before the "Willow" fire. Since the fire which I think happened around 2003-2004 I tried to do that loop and quit before I got 2 miles up South Fork due to the severe erosion and now wide canyon walls, boulder hopping to hell etc. I tried twice myself and several times with others and we always decided to turn back with the "not worth it" attitude. But a bunch of us did the Mt Peeley trailhead heading north on the Mazatzal Divide trail last month and passed the South Fork trailhead on road 201 and I vowed then to do the loop sometime in early 2009 when the days are getting longer. Thank you for the inspiration Nunya to do it. And I will do it and let you know how it goes. Actually before the fire it was in my top 5 favorite hikes and I even could do it in the dark because I did it so often. And the wildlife were plentiful there. I did the hike from the winter snow to summer monsoon season so it was a 4 season hike to me. Thanks for sharing!  Honestly it is the truth.  I appreciate hearing what you all went through.  I know it was a "B" hike before and an "A+++" hike now.  But you all survived!  Tough bunch!  Jim (jroosen1)  Phoenix Arizona

I'm French, It was a real and huge pleasure for me to discover "The Grand Canyon" throughout your magnificent pictures.  I had never seen so beautiful pictures of this area.  Bravo!!!  I easily imagine how happy you are to hike in a fantastic landscape as you do here.  Thank you to share your pictures with some foreigners who would be happy to go with you...  You seem to be a great backpacker , congratulations .  Are you an American Lady? you seem to live in the Arizona?  I only can say to you: thank you very much for your very beautiful photos about "The Grand Canyon", I was able to hike throughout it in my...armchair . I could not imagine how beautiful it was!!!

Nunya - Without a doubt the best web site for hiking I have ever seen. Awesome. You and your friends are amazing and the photos are not to be believed. I can't wait for this summer to get back to the sierra's. I love it all. Keep up the great work.

Nunya, Wow, what a grueling hike! (Deer Creek - Gold Ridge - South Fork Loop - Mazatzal Mountains Arizona) You are tough. This is one hike I would prefer to enjoy via your photos.   Nancy (ntaylor2) Phoenix Arizona

What an adventure!!!  (Deer Creek - Gold Ridge - South Fork Loop - Mazatzal Mountains Arizona 11/16/2008)  Brought back memories of days gone by... a friend and I did the South Fork of Deer Creek many times, many, many years ago, (25?). Back in those days we would often drive in to the top, (the road you walked on when you connected the Gold Ridge trail to the other). Somewhere in the middle of South Fork was the remains of an early prospector's cabin. His name was Davie Gowan and the place back then was called 'Gowan's Camp"-I'm sure it's totally gone now. We even found Davie Gowan's gravesiite on one occasion.  Sad to see that beautiful place destroyed by fire - I'm not sure I could handle the change, (I rarely go back to a spot that I had known before a fire).

What a Wonderful Site and Service!  As someone who is looking for hikes but requires knowledge of the trail conditions due to recent double hip replacement this is a marvelous work of art you have put together!!  Last June I rafted into the Grand Canyon, spent overnight at Phantom and then hiked out on the Bright Angel trail to successfully complete my 2008 "physical challenge journey". Today I was surfing to start the research for the 2009 trip - your site is going to make this fun and easy!.

I just viewed your Utah, Escalante 3/2009 hike and loved your shots of the wind; the tumbleweed, the snow covered desert, your hand on the old tree...thank you so very much!!! It brings tears to my eyes as I use to adore that type of adventure and beauty. I'm now working 60 hours a week on a night shift in a psych facility, am grateful, but am wishing my body and life could afford again the grace of your life.  You are an extremelly gifted photographer, traveler and all around generous human being. Saying thank you does not do you justice...

Nunya, Wow, has your website grown up!! It is now quite sophisticated, yet you have lost neither originality nor excitement. Keep up the good work. Happy hiking. Nancy (ntaylor2) Phoenix AZ

Dear Nunya, I was so excited when I saw this site! Your photos are exquisite and really capture the back country. It was so wonderful today to look through your Sierra pictures and recognize so many of the places we had hiked especially along the John Muir Trail. My dad has a few of the pictures he took of our trips, but, many were lost in one move or another along the way and I have longed to see that country again. So, seeing your beautiful photos was a wonderful treat. I have to say they were extremely evocativefor me-I could smell the smells and sense the feel of the air- and will, I'm sure, be so for the rest of my family. I can't wait to share them. My parents, who are now in their late 80's, took us into the back country for at least 2 weeks every summer from the time I was 5 (so we started climbing in about 1954). They were fearless, but, well prepared when it came to the wilderness and those trips became the backbone of my family memories. In those days, my brothers and I were the only children on the trail and were a bit of a marvel to the few people (maybe one party a day) we saw. We certainly faced our share of danger, but, my parent's intrepid love of the high country kept us returning. I didn't realize until fairly recently how unusual our experiences had been, especially, for that era.  If you can imagine, Evolution Valley was still very private-I remember going skinny dipping in Blaney Hot Springs( boy, the bottom was hot!) and running through the meadow and bushes to that little cold lake close by. We never even considered the possibility of other people being around. My last family Sierra hike in 1965 was with my father and 3 Swiss climbers up Mt Whitney. It was a real thrill and has been a wonderful memory in the ensuing years. We did the last of the trail down in the dark except (thank goodness for working flashlights!) and I remember vividly how rubbery my knees were as I followed my dad into camp.  I am going to get this site up for my parents and make sure my brothers have the web address. I know it will be a wonderful source of good memories and great conversation for all of us.  Thank you for sharing your art and your love of the wilderness with the rest of us, Lael H. (lael) Rio Rico Arizona

Nice Site - Well done, I am impressed, I was thinking about doing this for the Vancouver BC area.  Have you heard of http://dzrtgrls.com/ ?  sweeties, i make them nuts with my Rain Forest pics, and.... the mid winter frozen "hoo-doos", well you don't even know...  Rsvp, and I will share...  Mike - (chasemj)  Vancouver British Columbia Canada
Wow! You are now listed in Homeschool Heaven as a HUGE blessing!  I am overwhelmed by your site. My boys, if you count Dad, are all scouts. I can't wait to share your site with them. Dad may run the city but I run Homeschool Heaven, where anything goes and almost everything does! It's been pretty cold here in Connecticut (brrrr) and a virtual hike around your site did wonderful things, not only for my outlook but also my insight. I'm going to look around a bit more and may come back with some questions. I have entered into my "Creative Cosmos," as my good friend calls it. Being born into this world in February has its advantages and disadvantages. Thanks for putting a little fire beneath my frozen feet. Thanks again.  Scarlett  (cagedbirdsings.taylor) Connecticut

Dear Nunya, You have done it again. I felt like I was 15 again and making that Whitney hike. The things I have had stored in my mind's eye for 45 years came flooding back as I walked this one with you. Boy, do I have a Forester Pass story to tell you when I have a little more time to do it! Thank you, thank you for doing this. It has only struck me in the past year that I probably won't be able to do Whitney again in this life (just about did myself in at 13,300 in the Rockies last summer and my old knees just don't cotton to more than about 5 miles of downhill slope anymore). So, going with you was an absolute and grand thrill.
I so appreciate your site and all the effort it takes to make this happen for the few of us who still smell the high country in our dreams.  You're the best, Lael H. (lael) Rio Rico Arizona
Dear Nunya, I have visited your site many times and I am always blown away by your pictures. Today I nearly peed my pants, but that was because the volume was up and the music scared the hell out of me.  Although I have been all over your site, I had never clicked the More Nunya button. Something about today made me want More Nunya, so I clicked that button and now, although I have (as I said) been all over your site,  ... I watched all of those photos with you in them.  A sincere fan of your site, who's become a devoted fan of your heart.  Tim M.  (AzHikeAndBike) Scottsdale Arizona
Dear Nunya, it was so much fun having you on my flight from Atl to Phoenix. Thank you for referring me to your site. It is incredible as well as you. You have a truly beautiful spirit, and I knew there was a lot of positive energy from you. My brothers are checking out the site, and we are building our next expedition based on the pics and descriptions you have posted.  Thank you for making my day, and sharing a smile.  You are an angel, but with a good naughty, fun streak.  Your Friend.  Tony (atticus)  Delta Airlines
Hi Nunya  WOW I love the pictures of your South Rim Grand Canyon hike (Havasupai) - THANK YOU so much for thinking of me and sending them - the blue/green water is amazing, and the rock formations, and the hiking along the river - I would absolutely LOVE to do that hike !!! I really do hope I can do a hike with you the next time I am in AZ - I just cant believe it has been so long since I have been down there - but your pictures let me dream about what I am missing - I can just feel that warm breeze and the dust on my hiking boots - it makes me want to be there. I think it would be fun to do some type of half day hike and then find a pretty pool of water to jump in to swim - so maybe we could do something like that. I definitely will try to contact you when I am able to come back down - and I will put my contact information below - so you can write/email/call me anytime - it would be fun to visit. I am in halfway decent shape, but would be concerned about holding up the group - so would like to d a medium level hike - and I defintely need to get some hiking poles - I have never used those before.  Have a great day and THANK YOU so much for including me in your pictures !!!

Hi Nunya, Thanks for the updated (Havasupai) post.  Please check out my new landscape photography webite when you get a chance at www.wildmoments.net

Hi Nunya,  These pics are gorgeous. I'm one of those who was a rafter, tied up at the mouth of Havasupai Creek and the Colorado, and then hiked in a little ways. Just getting from the Colorado back into the creek a little ways was tricky, no way would I have been able to come down from the top! It scared me just looking at the pictures.  Linda (lindaanne)  Phoenix Arizona
Nunya!  It brings back great memories (Havasupai), and next time, I'll go to the Colorado!  Thanks for sharing as you always do.  Don (dgmowry)  Scottsdale, Arizona
