04/07/2007 Organ Pipe National Monument - Mt Ajo Arizona
Organ Pipe National Monument (1670ft elevation) sits low on the Arizona border next to Mexico - with Mt Ajo being it's highest peak. Go Virtual Hike with us 14+ miles up to the Peak of Mt Ajo at 4808ft elevation. Enjoy the expanse of wide open Sonoran Desert views, stop-action-rock climbs, amidst the beauty of rare Organ Pipe Cactus. (photos by Nunya)

02/11/2007 Romero Canyon - Catalina Mountains -
Coronado National Forest - Tucson Arizona

Romero Canyon is a pleasantly surprising hike, that delivers a fun variety of trail conditions, views - and of course the Romero Canyon pools! Go Virtual Hike with us 13+ miles (6.6 one way and accumulative elevation gain of 3,855ft) by cascading water pools..., up through to the Romero Pass at 6030ft elevation, and the fire damaged peaks of Mt Lemmon.

08/19/2006 Box Camp - Sabino Canyon - Tuscon Arizona
The Hike of Insanity. Sabino Canyon Rangers advised us that the route we had planned was impassable due to rock slides and avalanches from the past weeks flash floods - but that an alternate route was fine. They were wrong. Trails in Sabino Canyon have been obliterated in sections, to the point you stop taking photos for safety. Go Virtual Hike with us as we take you in Box Canyon - and bring you out at Midnight.  (photos by Nunya)

04/30/2006 Wilderness of Rocks - Mt Lemmon -
Tucson Arizona

04/29/2006 Spud Rock - Mica Mountain - Tucson Arizona
At 8666ft, Mica Mt is the tallest point in the Saguaro National Park (Tucson Rincon Mts). Go Virtual Hike with us on the Italian Spring Trail, as we take you on this 16 mile round trip (4000ft ec in 8 miles), through the recovering burn-out area to perch on Spud Rock for our Group Photo. Mitch from the Sierra Tucson Chapter led this hike which ended with capturing a beautiful fiery burnt orange Arizona sunset. (photos by Nunya)

02/26/2006 Douglas Springs - Saguaro National Park -
Coronado National Forest - Tucson Arizona

Perfect lighting captures this hike, as the Sonoran Desert put on one head turning show! Go Virtual Hike with us 18 miles (4298ft accumulative elevation change) into the Rincon Mountains of Tucson AZ on the Douglas Spring Trail - up beyond Cow Head Pass to 6452ft el per our GPS man Don. 02/25/2006 Sycamore Canyon - Pajarita Mountain Wilderness - Coronado National Forest - Nogales Arizona
The Border Patrol assured us we would not be bothered by illegals sneaking into the U.S., as this canyon is a drug smuggling route (who would also not harm us so that they can continue to run drugs). *why did that not make me feel better?* Virtual Hike with us (11 miles round trip, 1600ft ec) into the mystery and intrigue that is Sycamore Canyon. We'll take you into the cave hideouts, hang you off cliffs, and boulder hop you through the creek bed to where the trail ends at the U.S./Mexican border. (photos by Nunya)

06/12/2005 Madera Canyon - Santa Rita Mountains - Coronado National Forest - Tucson Arizona

BEHIND THE SCENES ...   Many areas you hike have group size limits , which you need to be aware of.  All groups shown in the Virtual albums may appear to hike together, when in fact they do not.  *sorry, photographer editing illusion*  Groups are broken down into Fast-Medium-and-Slower hikers, with designated regrouping points along the way for safety purposes.  Educate yourself on the rules directly with the US Forest Service and National Park Service.  Don't assume - Get the facts first.

02/14/2009  Hugh Norris Trail to Wasson Peak -
Kings Canyon Trail - and Sendero Esperanza Trail -
Saguaro National Park West -
Tucson Mountain District Arizona

The views atop Wasson Peak at 4687ft elevation in Saguaro National Park Arizona, lend to 360 degree panoramic views of the Catalinas, Santa Ritas, Rincons and Piccacho Peak - only to name a few. Go Virtual Hike with us 11+ miles (2100ft ec) from Hugh Norris Trail to Wasson Peak, and as we loop around King Canyon Trail to Sendero Esperanza Trail - an area rich with old mines dating back to the 1900's.
