In this Virtual Album, Kelly is one of the many California hiking buddies to come see Sedona (the week after Denelle & David), and the Desert Trails Hiking Club will be coming to do this trail and more April 7-9th. No matter what time of year, West Fork Oak Creek is my all-time favorite Sedona hike. Virtual hike with us along and crossing the frozen Oak Creek (as we took Deb out on her first hike after being off 7 weeks from foot surgery), and enjoy the serene beauty of this red rock canyon 6 miles, and 400ft elevation gain. The magical thing about Secret Canyon, is that it gives up a new secret every hike. Virtual Hike with us as temps range from 70's to 30's to the beautiful frozen waterfall cascade over 7ft tall. The euphoria that you feel on this awesome Sedona Vortex hike never fails to mean one thing - FUN!

Do you love the kind of hike where you pass tons of people who are wearing enough perfume and soapy deoderant, that the back of your throat burns with each breath of air and your lungs fill up with fluid? This is the hike for you! *okay suffocating makes me cranky* Go Virtual Hike with us as we accidentally take you from the Dreamy Draw area and up 1190ft elevation change to Squaw Peak (renamed Piestewa Peak). At 2608 ft above the Phoenix area, Squaw/Piestewa Peak is THE most popluar hike in the area....and a death trap if you have chemical sensitivity. (photos by Nunya)

I've done this easy 9 mile loop before (1400ft ec), but never with a camera - so you KNOW I had to go back and capture it for our collection! Virtual Hike along with us as we took the Dutchman 104 trail to the Bluff Springs 235 trail, and you'll see beautiful panoramic views including Weaver's Needle, Miner's Needle, Bluff Spring Mt & Picacho Butte. You've heard how hard this hike is - now Virtual Hike it! 12 miles of intense boulder and rock climbing beginning with a 2567ft elevation gain in the first 3.5 miles up Carney Springs, for an accumulated elevation gain of just under 5000ft. Continue with the group of 25 across the Superstitions Ridgeline and boulder climb with us down Siphon Draw - a 2493ft drop in the first mile! (photos by Nunya)

02/11/2006 Quartz Peak - Estrella Mountains Arizona
Beat the heat IN Phoenix! The cooler temps from October thru May allows you to hit local hiking trails in the Phoenix area without risk of melting like bud-duh. The in-and-out ridgeline trail of Quartz Peak is however, reminiscent of a mini-Superstition Ridgeline hike and not for the weak. Go Virtual Hike with us as we take you up 2473ft in 2.6 miles (5.25 round trip), to the beautiful Quartz Peak (yeah it's solid quartz!) at 4056ft where the climb will exhilarate you and brisk winds will make you put your jacket on! - yeah IN PHOENIX! If you've hiked the Superstitions (East of Phoenix AZ), you can become jaded to the beauty of "having seen it before". This hike however became a quick surprise of visual joy as something I'd never seen before! Kick back and Virtual Hike with us 22.75 miles (round trip) with a 3302ft accumulative elevation change (per our GPS boys) as we transport you through a natural botanical Saguaro Paradise - starting at the Peralta Trailhead on Dutchman trail, to Coffee Flat, to JF Trail, to Crosscut and back again! The Border Patrol assured us we would not be bothered by illegals sneaking into the U.S., as this canyon is a drug smuggling route (who would also not harm us so that they can continue to run drugs). *why did that not make me feel better?* Virtual Hike with us (11 miles round trip, 1600ft ec) into the mystery and intrigue that is Sycamore Canyon. We'll take you into the cave hideouts, hang you off cliffs, and boulder hop you through the creek bed to where the trail ends at the U.S./Mexican border. (photos by Nunya)

Perfect lighting captures this hike, as the Sonoran Desert put on one head turning show! Join us on a Virtual Hike to the Mazatzal Wilderness, where we'll take you on the Little Saddle Mt trail to Saddle Mt, through the snow covered trails and beautiful views along the way to the old mine at Squaw Flat. Angel's Landing - Zion Utah... the write-ups on this hike are daunting with sheer cliff drop-offs on either side of a narrow .5 mile ridge, and only chains to hold onto for safety. Just 5 miles round trip, this hike takes you up 1700ft in 2.5 miles to the 5790ft top of Angel's Landing. Go Virtual hike with us through Refrigerator Canyon, up the 21 switchbacks of Walters Wiggles, and get a REAL feel of what it's like to climb up that narrow cliff ridge to one of the most popular hikes in Zion National Park.
