08/05/2006 Geronimo Trail to East Webber Trail - Tonto National Forest  Mogollon Rim Arizona
31 hikers showed up for Hank's first hike leading for AOTC. Go Virtual Hike with us through cool pines, hop stream crossings, and enjoy the beauty of this moderately aggressive 10 mile (1100ft ec) In-&-Out hike starting from Geronimo Trail to East Webber Trail located in Pine Arizona. 07/23/2006 Tonto Creek - Tonto National Forest - Mogollon Rim  Arizona
This Virtual Water Hike to Tonto Creek near Gisela AZ, was able to be completed with the help of Tom & Dave submitting their photo shots *Thanks Guys!*. Half-way into the 4-5 mile hike, I managed to elegantly pitch myself down an embankment (yes again), and yet another Canon camera became boulder bait.
Go Virtual Hike with us as we float, swim, rock-scramble and boulder hop -
without whacking your knees even once. (photos by Nunya)

THIS site was created for the disabled and busy folks
who may never have the chance to see these places otherwise,

BEHIND THE SCENES ...   Many areas you hike have group size limits , which you need to be aware of.  All groups shown in the Virtual albums may appear to hike together, when in fact they do not.  *sorry, photographer editing illusion*  Groups are broken down into Fast-Medium-and-Slower hikers, with designated regrouping points along the way for safety purposes.  Educate yourself on the rules directly with the US Forest Service and National Park Service.  Don't assume - Get the facts first.

09/23/2006 Boynton Canyon - Coconino National Forest -
Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness - Sedona Arizona

Boynton Canyon is one of the top four most famous Vortex sites in Sedona. The rich iron ore & silicon dioxide content in the beautiful red rock, create magnetic fields of both positive and negative energy - hence a true scientific reason for these energy Vortexes. Boynton has a perfect balance of both negative & positive energy. Go Virtual Hike with 16 of us through this beautiful 5+ mile (500ft ec) EASY hike of ancient 1100 AD Sinaguan Indian Ruins, amazing views, laughter and camaraderie. (photos by Nunya)

07/08/2006 Nankoweap - Saddle Mountain - North Rim Grand Canyon
Have you ever looked at the massive expanse of the Grand Canyon and wondered how anyone could hike up on the walls? This is Nankoweap. Go Virtual Hike with us as we take you through the beauty of Saddle Mountain, to the cliff ledge trail of Nankoweap to Seiber Point and back. With elevation above 8000ft, rock scrambling and trails that quickly turn verticle - this trail easily fatigues, but is well worth the effort. Simply stunning ...

07/09/2006 OLD Bright Angel Trail - North Rim Grand Canyon Arizona
The OLD Bright Angel Trail - from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (8600ft elevation)... Primitive, unmaintaned for over 30 years, and downright dangerous. Go Virtual Hike with us on this 6 mile section of the Grand Canyon which drops you 4,460ft - and is ONLY for very experienced hikers - and even then I DON'T recommend it, but show you? - of course! (photos by Nunya)

08/12/2006 West Clear Creek via Rim Tank - Camp Verde Arizona
Class 3 & 4 Bouldering! Bear tracks! Bushwhacking! Britches blow-outs! Creek Bobbing! and a Beautiful Double Rainbow! Go Virtual Hike with us to the Central section of West Clear Creek via Rim Tank. Rock climb 1000+ feet down the vertical crevasse wash to float through the cool waters of West Clear Creek *and nipped at by crawfish I might add if you stay still long!*.  (photos by Nunya)

08/13/2006 Snowbowl to Mt Humphrey - Coconino National Forest -
Kachina Peaks Wilderness - Flagstaff Arizona

Mt Humphrey - is the tallest peak in Arizona at 12,633ft. Go Virtual Hike with us via Snowbowl trailhead (9330ft), up Humphrey's trail (3303ft elevation up in 4.8 miles), through rain, thunder, lightening and hail *freakin' ow!* Find out which of the "Spontaneous Seven" hikers was the first to sneak by Mother Nature's taunts and still snag the peak on their first time on this trail!! (photos by Nunya)

08/19/2006 Box Camp - Sabino Canyon - Tuscon Arizona
The Hike of Insanity. Sabino Canyon Rangers advised us that the route we had planned was impassable due to rock slides and avalanches from the past weeks flash floods - but that an alternate route was fine. They were wrong. Trails in Sabino Canyon have been obliterated in sections, to the point you stop taking photos for safety. Go Virtual Hike with us as we take you in Box Canyon - and bring you out at Midnight.  (photos by Nunya)

08/28/2006 North Lake to Hutchinson Meadow via Piute Pass -
(Day 1 of 5) - Backpacking Sierra Nevada's California

The Sierra Nevada's in California entice with a beauty that will have you shopping at REI for a backpack. Go Virtual Hike with us 12 miles from North Lake (9350ft elevation), up through Piute (pie-yoot) Pass (11,423ft elevation) to Hutchinson Meadow (9490ft elevation) on our first of five days backpacking through splendor of crystal clear blue lakes, snow capped mountains, cascading waterfalls, blooming wildflowers....and it only got more beautiful with each mile. (photos by Nunya)

08/29/2006 Hutchinson Meadow to Muir Trail Ranch -
(Day 2 of 5) Backpacking Sierra Nevada's California

Hutchinson Meadow to the Muir Ranch follows rapidly flowing streams with amazing waterfalls. Go Virtual Hike with us 11+ miles, as we met up with our Sierra San Gorgonio buddies at the John Muir Trail junction, and travel to Muir Ranch to pick up our food drop supply and ship back un-needed supplies.

08/30/2006 Evolution Valley through McClure Meadow -
(Day 3 of 5) Backpacking Sierra Nevada's California

Strap your water shoes on boys & girls, yer gonna get wet on this day! This section of the Sierra Nevada's meanders you up rocky ledges, and dips you in and out of wooded havens littered with cascading waterfalls of all dimension! Go Virtual Hike with us 9+ miles through Evolution Valley, starting at the John Muir Trail/Pacific Coast Trail junction (8050ft elevation) through McClure Meadow (9660ft el) to the switchbacks by Hermit Mt. (photos by Nunya)

08/31/2006 Muir Pass to LeConte Canyon -
(Day 4 of 5) Backpacking Sierra Nevada's California

This section of the Sierra Nevada's was for me the most stunning and edging toward brutal. Evolution Lake, Sapphire Lake, and Wanda Lake are breathtakingly untouched, pristine lakes that leave you awestruck with their beauty. Go Virtual Hike with ME 12+ miles, starting around 9660ft elevation up to Muir Pass (11,955ft elevation) thru hail and slippery snow banks, and down to Big Pete Meadow (9200ft el) where I met up with the Sierra San Gorgonio group who pulled me off the trail with Hot Chocolate and Hugs. (photos by Nunya)

09/01/2006 LeConte Canyon to South Lake via Bishop Pass -
(Day 5 of 5) Backpacking Sierra Nevada's California

The fifth and final day in the Sierra Nevada's tantalized with beauty, and taunted with rugged terrain as the day with the most extreme elevation changes. Go Virtual Hike with us as we start from Big Pete Meadow (9500ft elevation), down 2 miles to the LeConte Canyon junction to Dusy Basin (8750ft) - then UP 3222ft elevation in another 6 miles to Bishop Pass (11,972ft elevation!) - then DOWN 2204ft another 6 miles to South Lake (9768ft elevation).  (photos by Nunya)

09/09/2006 - 09/11/2006 Havasupai - South Rim Grand Canyon
Take what you remember of Havasupai and commit it to memory. Mother Nature has been busy remodeling! A MEGA Flash Flood just the weekend prior (9/2/06) took out bridges, trails, campsites, pushed debris 20ft up trees, and opened wide the Navajo Falls area - none of which did anything to stop our getting Havasupai Happy! Go Virtual Hike with us on some highlights of this 4 day mini-getaway. (photos by Nunya)
