The McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills Arizona, offers over 40 miles of trails to hike, mountain bike, and horseback ride through scenic desert landscape. 11/10/2007 Secret Canyon - Elaine Litman Memorial Hike -
Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness - Sedona Arizona
Secret Canyon in Sedona Arizona, was the last place we hiked with Deb's Mom, Elaine Litman on 11/12/2005, and therefore became the perfect place to hike in her honor. Elaine Litman passed away 09/29/2007 due to complications from ovarian cancer. Go Virtual Hike with us back to Secret Canyon, as the fall colors we had hoped for burst forth with radiance to celebrate the wonderful woman we were there to pay tribute to. (photos by Nunya)

Hands down - my favorite hike on the 7th day of our Hawaii-Kaua'i trip was the Awaawapuhi Trail to Nualolo Cliff Trail - for spectacular views of the Na Pali Coast. Go Virtual Hike with us 11+ miles on this 2980ft elevation gain loop hike, where we also take you out to Lolo Vista point on the Na Pali Coast - followed by an evening hike through rain to Waimea Canyon... to stand in the clouds .

On Day five on The Big Island of Hawaii... Go Virtual Hike with us to beautiful Pololu Valley trail, as we take you down a cliffside trail to a black sand beach, and then hike you through a rain forest and up to a cliff bluff overlooking the ocean (3 miles round trip, 900ft elevation) - with an evening trip to Queens Bath to dip your toes in. For our fourth day on Hawaii, Go Virtual Hike with us to the Manuka Nature Reserve (2 mile loop with 400ft elevation), and then 1.5+ miles down (1200ft elevation - 3 miles round trip) through tall sugar cane to Kealakekua Bay and the spot where Captain Cook was killed in 1779 - where nothing short of a miracle was about to occur! Our third day on the Big Island of Hawaii - delivers lush tropics and majestic black sand beaches of Hilo. Christmas Eve Day... One of my favorite days of the year for nostalgic reasons, and another one of those-kinda-days that you just gotta do something unique to create a memorable experience. Go Virtual Hike with us as we take you 1000ft up - and then back down (3.8 miles round trip) from our campsite to Byous Butte and the ridgeline - bushwhacking! - and spend Christmas Eve by the glowing warmth of campfire...
